Title: How do you free a stuck lifter

Found the stuck open lifter that caused my no compression problem. I soaked in in Kroil and tried to push it down,no luck. Any ideas?

Try and disassemble to clean it properly or best to replace it.  This would have showed up as zero lash or a tight rocker when valves "closed"....Frank.

I would wonder why the lifter is stuck in the up position .

is the metal galled up and that is the problem or it is other stuff?
