Title: Can some one de code a casting number(please)
Post by: 48ford on September 27, 2009, 07:22:05 PM
Hi Guys,
This is way off topic, but please stay with me.
I also have a 1982 boat(why ,i don't know)
The boat is a penn yan that is a inboard boat, not an outboard or I/O.
It has a v6 in it that was built by GM.It looks like a small block with 2 cylinders cut off.I'm sure it's a chevy, not a buick
It is called a crusader 165
The casting number in the back where a chevy small blocks is is cast 47159
The number that is stamped into the boss in the front of the head isT10221UD
   56926
The serial # that stamped into a tag thats bolted on is 34161
I think it's in the 4.3 family,but i'm not sure.
It has the same rotation as a car engine.
This one is toast, and I'm not sure if I will rebuild it or replace it with a small block.
Thanks Guys
Russ
