Title: Snugtop Lid lift bracket
Post by: C9 on June 06, 2009, 08:31:17 AM
Bought a used Snugtop bed lid for the 2002 F-150 SuperCrew a few days back.

Have it installed, locks in . . . except for the lift cylinders.

Does anyone have one of these that they can measure for me?

I need the measurement and placement of the lower lift cylinder brackets.

I did a lot of looking on the Internet and I can't find a soul that's driving a SuperCrew with one that I could look at.

Looks like the brackets go along the inside of the upper bed rail so you can access the bracket bolts.

As well as the lower part of the lift is forward of the glassed in upper bracket.

Caught up with the kid I bought the lid from.

The bracket is to the rear, 8" on center from rear vertical bracing, top edge of bed.

Perhaps 10 1/2" or so from the inside surface of the tailgate.

Fwiw....

Glad you found what you need. I have a buddy with a Snug Top on his Dodge, but had not caught up to him yet.

Thanks.

Last I heard the kid had gone to Phoenix for work.

Sweetie's happy, she likes them . . . now, when we bought the truck new she didn't want one nor did she want the pipe steps.

Keepin' my eyes open for a set of those in the junkyard.

She's 5'1" with a bad back and sometimes it's tough for her to get in the truck.

I would imagine.

I thought he had a job down there and was leaving shortly, but I see his pickup at his house most afternoons.
He's got a modest job here and may be sticking with it for a while.

Met his dad the other day, he's running a 496" BB Chevelle that sounds mucho good.
Drag races it and drives it on the street fairly often.

That's a sound I don't mind hearing go by.

Beats heck out the fart can crew....
