R.I.P Mr. Breedlove , thank you for making a young kids life more exciting by thinking about your accomplishments and giving rise to dreams of mechanical goals of my own . He is one of the people from his generation that inspired younger kids to just have a dream and go for it .

^^^ Well said Chimp. Sad to see people pass that were examples of what you can do with enough determination. Breedlove was definitely an inspiration to many. RIP

As sort of a tribute I just watched the '64 video again of his first 500mph run and crash...The Wildest Ride.

He was a true icon. He even inspired The Beach Boys' song, "Spirit of America."

Yeah the land speed wars of the 1960s were interesting.  He help create the era of land speed racing with thrust

I remember reading about the jet engines and thinking that they cheated. :) He certainly was innovative and gave it 100%. If you do some reading, history says he used every dime he had to build each car.
