Rodder's Roundtable / AOD info
June 01, 2005, 12:54:07 PM
Does anybody know the correct dimension to install the tv cable on a carb from the butterfly pivot point  going up for a push type instead of a pull type ? I'm using a metal rod that came out of an early 80's ford.

Rodder's Roundtable / Progress?

The oil leak on the engine in the 53 is fixed. Now the 2 trans lines leak. They have some kind of oring in the fittings that was 23 years old. Worked great until I touched them. If I'm lucky, they will be something normal and not oem only. The closest ' Ford dealer is 50 miles.  Still 50% on progress.

Rodder's Roundtable / Unusual

I went to the Atwood Ks. rod run yesterday. I saw something I had never seen before. A 67 charger, slant six automatic. All I have seen are v8 cars. It was unrestored and for sale. The owner thinks there are 3 in existence.  It's a pretty good show. Had 393 cars. One of the club people said that was a new record. Mid afternoon they go to an abandoned airport and drag race. They have supper and a dance also. I left before the fun stuff. Long ways home. PS. It's summer and I'm so happy I can hardly stand it. Each winter gets worse with time.

Rodder's Roundtable / spindles

Does anyone know of a dimension chart for spindles that would assist  in changing from a 4 lug to five lug hub. I don't know what brand of 4 lug this is. If I had dimensions, this might be simple.

Rodder's Roundtable / god of projects
December 19, 2004, 07:37:39 PM
I believe the project god is mad at me. Yesterday I bolted the rear fenders on the 53 truck and installed the torque thrust 2's for the first time. I have a list of people wanting to see the finished truck. At the first house, I notice oil dripping from the engine. Turns out that the rear seal on the intake decided not to work anymore. If I had a clue this would happen, I would have pulled it when the front end was off. It won't be fun to fix. The engine has been together for 3 years. I guess it was my turn to be lucky. I still lack door panels and headliner but there's alot less parts laying around than 1 month ago.

I just watched the 70 mustang episode. Done at the sema show. The owner was either totally shocked or a hell of an actor. I'd like to see one of these cars a year after completion. Very curious how they'd look.

Rodder's Roundtable / stainless king pins

I took the 53 for it's first drive since the rebuild tonight. The steering is very definately easier. I can't say how long they will last but in steering effort, it's a nice improvement. If you're going to stay with a straight axle, you should at least look at them.

Rodder's Roundtable / Sunday work
November 21, 2004, 09:55:47 PM
I had another successful weekend. I installed the stereo system, installed carpet, finished the seat brackets, made a new panel to fit in the original dash grille for the receiver, changed the front mount for the console so it's stable. I was all set to take some pics and the batteries in the camera were to discharged to work. I still need a headliner, door panels, and a rear panel. The rear has obstacles because some of the stereo equipment is behind the seats. It's going to take more thinking.  I'm hoping that I'll have it all assembled by the end of next weekend. I will still have the rear fenders left but at least the truck can be out of the garage. My gagrage isn't very big. Working and having the truck in at the same time is difficult. I hope everyone had a good weekend.
Ps. the weather here was real poor.

Rodder's Roundtable / Sunday work

Another good day for me. I installed the console, rebuilt the door hinges and got them painted. Taking the pins out of the hinges was no fun. I had to heat them up to drive them out. The list is getting shorter. I may live to see the end afterall.
