How old do you have to be to know what canning is? Always seemed to me like it ought to have been called jarring.

I remember once at the farm my cousin and I went collecting frogs . We put them in all the empty quart sealers so we could see them .  My aunt nearly died ! Then it was our turn to experience near death. When we had to get rid of them we went behind the barn and had batting practice with them . Back of barn was just greasy with frog guts  . My poor aunt

My wife has not canned in many years, but I have a daughter-in law that does.
