Rodder's Roundtable / Sealing battery cables
March 20, 2004, 10:55:10 AM
I'm running a batrtery cable to the rear of my project truck today. I thought I would see if anyone has any tricks to seal the ends where they go into the terminals. I've had problems in the past with corrosion getting down the cable and thought maybe there's a good way to seal the ends.

Rodder's Roundtable / repairing aluminum radiator
March 17, 2004, 04:57:54 PM
This may have been covered before but I can't find anything in the search feature.
I bought a new aluminum rad last week for my truck project, and managed to put a hole in it  before I got it installed. does anyone have any good DYI fixes? It's about an hour drive back to wherei had it made, so if it can be fixed here I'd like to try it myself.                             This has not been a good week...

Rodder's Roundtable / Ford 9" bearings
March 05, 2004, 05:16:05 PM
I need to replace an outer (wheel) bearing on a nine incher. Is this something that i can do at home with hand tools? I can take it to a local driveline shop but i'd just as soon spend the money on something else if i can do it here. I don't see how i can get the "keeper" off the axle behind the bearing and i don't want to damage anything because this is an axle that i had shortened by Moser. TIA

Rodder's Roundtable / Ford Duraspark...again
February 25, 2004, 08:18:51 PM
I tried posting this a few minutes ago, but i didn't see it come up, so forgive me if it posts twice.
I still can't get my Ford 429 to start. I have wired the start/ignition wiring according to the diagrams I have gotten. There is 12 volts at the coil, in both the start and run key positions, 12 volts at the key switch, starter relay and sparkbox. There is no spark at the plugs. I have tried a different coil. I have had someone else go over the diagrams and agree that it is wired correctly. This leads me to believe that the sparkbox may be bad; it worked fine in the donor truck several years ago when i removed the engine. does anyone know how, if it's possble, to test the Duraspark box? A new box is about $60, which I'd happily spend if i was sure it was gonna cure the problem, but I don't want to just throw parts at it if there's a better way. I really want to hear this thing with the open Limefire headers.

How long has this been going on?
I clicked on my favorite favorite today and i got "Internal Server Error"
When did the site move? My computer took a huge dump last week, but when i came back online the old RRT was still there. I see posts on here from late January...I'm so confused... (but I'm happy I found this through the H.A.M.B.)
