I wired in a disconnect switch on the 2 ga battery cables to my 3k Inverter on the RV.  I installed the switch on the negative side.  The Inverter for some reason would randomly turn on and go into standby mode. That would drain my 2 batterys since the covered parking the RV sits at, reduced the useful sunlight to keep the batterys charged.

1st photo shows the gray box 3k watt Inverter at the top. Red switch lever is below it. Next to the switch is the Jaboni solar charge controller.

Switch is rated at 275 amps.. continuous. 325 amp surge for a few seconds.  The system should never come near those levels of amps from the batterys.

Bought a few tools in recent weeks. I needed a disconnect on my RV 3k watt Inverter setup. It converts 12v DC to 120v AC.

Harbor freight hydraulic crimp tool. A Klein wire cutter tool. It was only a  few bucks more than the HF brand so I bought name brand.

Crimp tool worked well on the  2 awg wire lugs.  The cutter easily cut the 2ga cable

Message from my buddy about his mom.  This was the 99 yr old mom I helped him move about 6 months ago into a full assisted living place.

She passed in her sleep yesterday.  Her 100th birthday was on April 10th.. Her health started to decline about 3 weeks ago.

It is sad, yet she made it to 100 years old.

Bit of maintenance on the daily vehicles on saturday.

Changed the transmission inline oil filter on the Honda Civic car. Since the air filter box was removed to replace the trans filter.. I cleaned the MAF sensor with a spray of MAF cleaner.  The Civic is hard starting in the morning. Bit longer cranking till the engine fires. After that: All day the car starts quickly.  I thought it was fuel pressure. So I cycle the key off and on a couple times to prime the EFI system.  That key action does not help.  THe car runs great. No surge like low fuel pressure or bad injectors. It will run 35mph or 85 mph just fine.  Weird.

Did an EFI pressure check on the Honda Civic car again. Fuel press is fine at early morning first start up.

I ran fresh DOT 4 brake fluid thru the F350 truck.  The ol "let er drip method" worked well.  2 quarts of brake fluid was used. I try to refresh brake fluid every 3 years or less.

Watched some recent Steve Magnante videos.  He is selling cars, his house, magazine collection , etc to pay medical expenses.

Steve is still recovering from his illness and seems to be unsure when and if he returns to his old activity.

Also: Steve said he will setup a Gofundme account and to wait to donate funds to his account only.

Quote from: 58 Yeoman on May 16, 2024, 10:45:09 PMWhen I was in the hospital, I'd watch Perry Mason.  Loved the 59 Ford Retractable and the convertibles.  Did not like the huge barge of a Lincoln in a couple episodes.  It was really out of place.  I did watch Highway Patrol a couple times.  10-4.

Yeah , lots of convertibles in Perry Mason.. They put Bill Hopper (Paul Drake) in a T Bird and Bill was a good sized fellow. He did not fit the early T-Birds well.  LOL

We have watched some of the Highway Patrol TV shows in recent weeks..  Neat to see the old cars that were new then , in action... Lets say the suspensions on them old cars were weak , loose, need more dampening from the shock absorbers.

Lots of 1957 Ford Fairlanes , new 1957 chevys , hardtops and convertibles. Buick Specials , Roadmasters. Mopar hardtops , convertibles

I did some reading on clear gasoline... It seems that sulfur has been scrubbed out of it too. But 50 cents extra a gallon scrubbing?

Testing the Harbor Freight bicycle rack hitch mount today. I did some measurements of the rack pf how close it is to the hitch receiver of my F350...  It will be too close to the back of the RV .. Likely the inner bicycle will rub on the rear wall of the RV.

I may buy a hitch extension or only load 1 bicycle on the rack. Other bike in the bed of the truck ?

Street prices on regular is in the 4 teens or lower.. $4.13 to $4.03  , that is around us.

Diesel is running at 4 dollars a gallon again, down from $4.10 to $4.20

I paid $3.60 a gallon for regular in Prescott AZ the other day on a Motorcycle ride.  The station offered Ethanol phree regular gasoline at 50 cents higher a gallon.  As I recall yrs ago , we were told when ethanol was blended in to gasoline it made the gasoline higher priced.  Now non ethanol gasoline is much higher priced.  Must be supply and demand at work here?

Phil: Hope you are doing well.

Been windy as could be here. Sunday was brutal , there was  snow in northern Arizona.. This storm front likely is headed east?

Received my report on F350 oil sample from Blackstone Labs..  All the numbers were good.  Oil only had 2450 miles on it from near 1 year ago.  We did not travel in the RV much last year. We did put 5200 miles on the daily driver Honda Civic car.

Washed my F350 today. I use the Harbor Freight foaming bottle on a water hose. With Purple Power Wash n Wax liquid.. With a long handled  brush that is 10 inches wide.

I Started to wax the truck. Keep in mind it is ALL white. 4x4 (tall) , crew cab , long bed.  After an hour my eyes were really tired to looking at the white paint.  I only got the cab , hood , front fenders waxed.  I use a Meguires marine wax. It is tough stuff. Easy on , a bit of a work out to wipe off.

I am up to 3 miles a day on the bicycle. I ride 2 times a day.  About 1.5 miles per ride. I am slowly getting my wind back.  Never thought I would be riding a bicycle again at 70 yrs old.  My back side is still not too fond of the seat on the bike. I may try another seat.

Yeah , the trigger finger deal is no fun! I had that about 10 yrs ago on my index finger , likely from air tool use for decades?  After treatment , I used my bird finger for the impact gun for a few years.

Then, a couple years later ...  I developed a cyst at the base of the same bird finger.  Turned out the middle knuckle was developing excess fluid that traveled to the finger base and formed a cyst. Drained the cyst, then  more fun injections.  Cyst never returned
