She's got good skills and it's good to see girls having a go and doing it.
She's from Oz but I've never heard of them not that means much. I'll have to keep an ear out for their name in future.

Rodder's Roundtable / Re: Hot Rod magazine
February 05, 2024, 11:34:42 PM
Even down here lots of auto related magazines have disappeared from the shelves.
Australian Street Rodding has ceased operations after many decades of publication at issue 400.
I have all 400 from the seventies until the end. It's sad moment in our hobby that's for sure.
Looking at the barely shelved racks at any store it's not just our hobby that is feeling the change but all magazines across the board.
Its a sign of the times sadly.

I must admit I don't come on here much anymore but then again I don't go on anything much anymore. I don't know why because I'm retired now but I seem to have less time. I'm glad the site is still running as it's the only one I look for when I do. Thanks.

Down here in Oz the vast majority of cars were 4 doors at one time so we were use to them. That changed a little while back and two door cars a way more common now than they use to be.
I had a 34 ford 4 door sdn for quite a long time and it was like my daily driver and to be honest is was the most practical rod I have ever owned. I could do my shopping in it,take passengers with out having to get out to let them in,throw stuff on the back seat, it was so practical.
Tudors are so much nicer but I'm glad I had the 4 dr at the time as it really served my purpose.
Now I have a coupe,a roadster and a T bucket, the coupe is the most practical but sometimes I think a 4 dr would be better on occasions.
But I'm happy with what I've got as my hotrod needs have changed over the years.

Rodder's Roundtable / Re: 2022: What are you doing today?

I'm pulling benches and parts away from the walls so I can drill holes for the pest control guys to spray their white ant treatment into the ground.
Its slow going and no working on cars for a few days at least.

Rodder's Roundtable / Too old for T Buckets
February 03, 2021, 06:18:56 AM
Quote from: "kb426"I've threatened to build one numerous times. Several years ago at Pueblo, I heard a group older than me say that the life of the owner of a t was the same as a boat owner. 2 best days, 1st and last. :)

gosh they must have built something bad. They must have been in the wrong hobby.

Rodder's Roundtable / Too old for T Buckets

I must admit I dont drive my bucket nearly as much as I did when it was my only hotrod 30 yrs ago and I drove it everywhere but since then Ive got a roadster and coupe that I can cruise around in and the bucket barely moves out of the garage nowadays.

This week Ive tried to change that and took it out over three consecutive days but I think age has caught up to me,its uncomfortable for any long periods of time and now I'm suffering a sore knee that I think is from jumping out of it.

It is a lot more fun than the other rods but its getting harder to enjoy it for any length of time.

I'm thinking once my grandson is a bit more responsible and has had his license for a couple more years it might be time to pass it down.

Is it just me or do we all outgrow our cars from when we were younger.

Rodder's Roundtable / ground clearance
March 06, 2020, 07:07:25 AM
For us down here the lowest point can only be 4ins and most of the time that's under the spring perches which is a decent amount of clearance for the engine gearbox and exhaust.
I don't have any real trouble with any of my rods negotiating speed humps and the like.

Used them on my T bucket over ten years ago and haven't touched it since. They work real good.
