Phil, sorry to hear about your medical problems. I've heard that a collapsed lung is really painful. Hang in there.
Thanks for posting the pic of the old truck. I spent a lot of time in the driver's seat and made lots of really good memories. Good to know it's still plugging along.

It's great to hear that Hooley is still up to his old self and having fun. I hope to be part of the old farts gathering to help out at Bonneville soon.

It's really sad to hear about Sam. He knew a lot and was good at what he did.

Sold all my stuff at the swap and had a little time to hang with the RRT group. Great weather and friends.

We lost another good one...sad.

I only knew him from Bonneville but he was a kind hearted, talented man

^^^ Well said Chimp. Sad to see people pass that were examples of what you can do with enough determination. Breedlove was definitely an inspiration to many. RIP

As sort of a tribute I just watched the '64 video again of his first 500mph run and crash...The Wildest Ride.

I want to thank everyone that hangs out here and especially those that post regularly. I'm more of a reader than a poster nowadays.

I don't have an active car project right now and all of my energy is going towards finishing what I've started at the cabin while I still can. It's going to be my legacy that I'll leave to this world and my vision hasn't quite been finished yet.

I'm not visible here but I'm still lurking.

I bought this handheld vacuum last fall to use at the cabin where I don't have electricity. It has become one of my favorite and most used Dewalt tools for home and cabin.

It's very powerful, handy, has just the right attachments, is easy to empty, and a charged battery lasts a long time. I paid $110 at Amazon. (#DCV501HB)

Sue's getting tired of me saying "I love my little vacuum" every time I use it.

Rodder's Roundtable / Re: 2 door only , 4 door cars ?
December 22, 2022, 01:30:30 PM
Growing up I never thought of a 4 door as being a cool car but now I like 4 doors on my daily drivers. They're just more practical and that's what I look for in a driver. All of our cars have 4 doors (or 5 with the hatch) except the 2dr Rambler wagon and the van.

A friend is shopping for a new truck and his opinion is that a truck should only have 2 doors. He wanted a next gen Ford Ranger (2024) but they will only come in 4 doors so he's looking elsewhere. Personally I love my 4 door truck. Riley, my dog, has his own space and I can easily access lots of functional interior real estate. The bed is a tad shorter but I can still haul 4x8 sheets of plywood.

I guess it all depends on what's important to you.

QuotePosted by Crosley.In.AZ: I am still causally looking at enclosed trailers on craigs list. In the 6 x 12 foot range size... Some of these units are rough, no title, no plates, rusty, tires that even in small photos look like crap.
I've got one I'm thinking about selling this spring. It might be more than you're looking for tho. It's an R&R model 612VDC, all aluminum, 6X12, V nose, I paneled and insulated all of the inside, added a window on each side, built cupboards for the front and it's got a Progressive Dynamics PD9245C – 45 Amp RV Converter/Charger onboard with an exterior plugin. AC & DC outlets inside. I put a lot of work into it.
I don't have this picture thing figured out yet. I guess we'll see what happens. If you're interested and can't see the pics, I can send them.

We had a great dinner with good conversation. In spite of the 'world's problems', we have a lot to be thankful for.

Gas jumped from $3.59 to $4.19 here in northern Michigan in the last week.
A 20# propane tank has cost $17 for carry in refills all summer (4 gal=$4.25/gal)

Thanks Joe. I had my car done last week in Grand Rapids and was real impressed with the application for $139. It took 2 hrs and was very thorough. Now I'll see how it works.
