I need a 90deg speedo cable adapter to suit a Turbo 400, must have the same thread both ends.
I am led to believe that any Chev one will do,  they all have the same thread for the speedo cable.

What are the procedures for doing that from over seas?

He is wanting it from a well know bank like Wells Fargo, but we don't have them over here.

Any help would be greatfull.

Or do you know of anyone who ships international out of Newyork?

What I want to know is who do you recomend to pick it up for me, and any idea of what it will cost?

He can crate it up for me and it will be around 800lb 32in x 32in

Hi Guys
I have a friend who has a 383 late model small block chev, who would like a dual 4 barrel manifold, but all I can find are early model manifolds, can you get an early manifold to fit the later heads?

Rodder's Roundtable / 28 days on the road
March 23, 2010, 04:30:41 AM
Every other year here in Australia we have a regional nationals that is held somewhere out of the ordinary and this year it's in a little place called Busselton in western australia aboout 100m south of Perth

A while ago a bunch of us talking over beers decided we should go, after all it's only a 5000mile round trip, what have we got to loose?

We are taking 28 days to do the trip, but not all of that will be the nationals most of will be an adventure and a holliday

I started off in Canberra, Steve and Caroline started of in Sydney and Allen and Dyonne started off in Marrar, which is just outside of Wagga.

Ok who wants photos??

Look who we bumped into at Macca's for breakfast on Sunday morning in Yass, Steve and Caroline from Sydney.

Seeing as we have all week to get to Adalaide we stopped for coffee in Cootamundra, the town was full of grasshopper, there seems to be a plaige of them at the moment

When we got to Marrar, we found this guy with a blown bigblock on LPG in need of a quick tune up.

After a quick road test and smiles all around it was time to open a beer............or two :D

After a good nights sleep it was time to hit the road again, this time with 3 blow LPG rods

Guess what?  Time for coffee again, this time in Narranderra.

And a couple of hours later we hit Deniliquin and go in search of The shiek, Steve he"s a friend of ours

Lucky steve is not that hard to find and this is where we are staying tonight, and I have already found his fridge  :D  :D  :D

Rodder's Roundtable / How hard to shorten a 9" diff
February 24, 2010, 08:25:49 PM
Hi
It looks like the diff that came out of the panel truck we took home is goin to be about 3" to wide for it's new home so, how hard is it to shorten a diff?

Is it something that we can do in the shed?
Or should we take it to someone who knows what they are doing?

Thanks

Rodder's Roundtable / Coming to America
August 23, 2009, 06:55:27 PM
Hi Guys
It's been a while since I was last here, but it still looks the same.
I am coming over to help you guys with your current account deficit and inject some Aussie dollars into your economy.

Long story but a mate of mine, Scooter, can't help himself when it comes to ebay, and he has bought a 50 ford F1 panel delivery from somewhere in Ohio, and now we have to go over there a drive it to Califoria to put it on a boat and bring it home.

So being the eternal optimist and quick to take advantage of an opportunity I put my hand up to co-drive for him and now it looks good for a trip down route 66 :D  :D

We should be over there around the 12th-14th of October, and taking a week or so to do the trip, and we would love to meet as many of you guys as is possible along the way.

I plan on taking a laptop and a camera and posting every day of our adventures, just so the women folk back home can keep an eye on us

We have spoken to Frank and he will look after us at his end, thanks Frank, now we need to plan where and when to stop along the way.

Any suggestions of what are the must do's along the way would be appreciated.

Thanks

Rodder's Roundtable / Turbo 400 problems
June 18, 2005, 09:31:59 PM
I have a turbo 400 that is back in the shop for the third time.
I had it freshened up for my coupe back in the build up stage, and it had issues when you gave it a had time from the first time I got the coupe registered, it only lasted about 3000kms before it started slipping all the time.
Second rebuild, replaced just about everything exept the case, it was performing perfect until. I decided to fit a 2000 rpm stall converter, again it ran great ....................for about 50kms, then no top gear and eventually on the crawl back home no gears at all. I checked the fluid, fine no leaks but no pressure when I disconnected the cooler lines.
Now that it is back in the shop the guy there is trying to tell me that I had the converter in wrong.......................how the hell do you fit a converter in wrong?
He tells me that I must have had it misaligned and I tightened the bell housing bolts up and forced it into the pump, but I had space to slide the converter back before I bolted it up to the flywheel. How can this be fitted wrong???
How much free play between the box and the flywheel is acceptable, if I can slide the converter back and forth?
Should I slide the converter as close to the box as possible, or is it ok to slide it forward to the flywheel?
Is he trying to rip me off, or is there some way that the converter is not mating to the pump properly??
I am at my witts end, after all this is costing me a fortune, and I don't know what I can do to get a box to last in this car. Am I doing something wrong, this has never happened to me before, and I have had a lot of autos in and out of cars before with no problems.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
