We were down in Sun City AZ area on monday 16th.... Paid $3.69-9 a gallon for diesel.  Topped off the F350 since we were pulling the car trailer a few hundred miles.

Quick update on these stick on bit holders for cordless drill driver tool.

I have used my driver tool a lot recently.  The bits vibrate out of this holder.  The holder on top of the tool gets in the way in tight spaces.

A good idea that is OK for some applications.  In limited use. I have had good luck with them

I did not mention or post photo ... This Budget air compressor is a direct drive setup on the oil phreee pump.

I would need to mount oil lubed pump and motor to spin the pump..   Not tough to do. Just more costs $

Rodder's Roundtable / Oil Phree air compressor ?
September 07, 2024, 10:53:38 PM
I ended up with a broke Craftsman air compressor, 2 piston unit ...  These oil less compressors have a limited life span : 200 to 250 hours I have read.

Any who : the tank is good.  Look at the 2nd photo and you willl see remnants of 1 piston that blew apart.

I have a smaller 20 gallon, dual piston  air compressor where the pump has oil and stuff like the compressors we are familiar with  8)

I doubt the small compressor would like to fill up the larger tank?  Looked around for real compressor and motor by its'self to retro fit this broken unit.  With money prices I see, I'd just by a full  compressor

Quote from: kb426 on August 31, 2024, 07:31:13 PMI made a little road trip today in the 48. It's getting close to 4,000 miles. I went to Amarillo (190 miles one way) to test drive a new Miata. They had a 23 with 5000 miles on it but it appeared to be sold as I drove in the drive. After driving the car, we go back inside and I ask for the price because on the dealer's website it lists msrp plus $150 doc. fee plus addons???? Turns out the addons are 4 grand of crap. I sure won't be buying anything from that dealership. The salesman said they add that to any vehicle 2018 and newer. I'm amazed they are in business. :)

You guys may or may not remember when nitrogen in tires was a big magic deal at new car dealers 20 yrs ago?  An add-on to the window sticker of 400 to 900 $$ for "Lifetime nitrogen in the tires"  LOL

I was at a chevy dealer with my problematic 2006 Silverado for warranty work again.  They had new vehicles near the service bay for customers to look at while waiting.

I noticed an add-on for nitrogen on the window sticker  as a sales gal walks up to me and made the mistake to start a conversation with me.   I  mention the hundreds of dollars for life time nitrogen in tires.  She starts the blah blah sales pitch.  I tell her that 78% nitrogen air has worked for decades for me.  I had to explain to her what I meant.. That regular air has 78% nitrogen.

Converter pilot hub slips into the crankshaft end...

Converter drive hub rides on a bushing inside the pump.

Inside the converter the stator is held by fixed splines that are part of the pump assembly.

The input shaft splines into the turbine inside the converter.

Several items hold parts in place with torrington bearings between each other, or thrust washers and bushings guide pieces  in place too.

I would get in trouble on the street with that.

Diesel remains around $3.21-9  at several stations near us.

Regular gasoline price of course dropped not long after my earlier post.  Several stations are at $3.41-9 now.
