Thanks again DON, couldn't have done it without you!! He worked his tail off both days!

What could be better than hanging out with your clubmates and caravaning 104 miles to meet up with hundreds of car guys and 650 or so of the coolest cars in the country on the grounds of a drag racing legend's museum... and having the legend fire up two hemis, the Swamp Rat 5 and a vintage air raid siren... What could be better than that???

We get to make it bigger and better next year!!! Whoo Hoo!

Participant gate opens at 9 am, the vendors need to get in and set up before the participants... This is a one day event.

Spectator parking will be just past the entrance to Garlits, at the horse track next door... please do NOT do anything immature with your gas pedal in there, we have to pay to have it re-graded/re-sodded.

At this point it is too late to get pre-registrered...

We should have a better system for letting participants in this year, since most will be preregistered, the pre-registered people should have their numbered sheet thing printed out that Alan sent them and have it on the dash and/or ready.

The few spots that will be left for day of show registrations will go fast, so be there early if you are not pre-registered.

The Pre-party is at the No Where Bar Friday Night... Bench racing in each hotel parking lot.

8970 SW 27th Ave, Ocala, FL 34476, right down SW 16th Ave from Garlits museum's front door. Just put in this addres in the "to" and "Garlits" in the from.

Everybody ready!!!!

I'm kinda giddy myself, now that I have a running driving hot rod...

Lee, since most all of the registrations will be pre-registrations, the only thing may be waiting behind people who didn't pre-register getting turned away at the gate... Lat year we had 300 pre-registrations and 600 showed up... this year, we have close to 500 pre-registrations...

If you are not pre registered and you show up after 10, you might as well go straight to the spectator lot and come on in and hang out with us and Big Daddy...

This year we have more room, more food, more bands, more vendors, a bigger swap meet, bigger spectator parking area... and don't forget the pre and post parties at the No Where bar, right down the street...

I'll probably be parking spectators, bu who knows, I may get a promotion and be at the registration table or the gate...

I'll be the biggest guy in the Billetproof "STAFF" shirt and a greyish flatop haircut.

Interesting that you say that... Since this is just a spray bomb paint job, I was thinking I would experiment with some silver seaweed flames with candy red tips, lined in white... See how it looks... see if I want ti for the final paint job.

Drove it home last night... Still need some brake tweaking, latches, window regulators, and lots of bodywork, but it tracks straight, goes pretty good (350/TH350/8" 3:08), all the gauges work, most of the lights work, and the T-bird seats are comfy.

It's filthy from a year of grinding and sanding in a barn, but I can stop saying "I am building a car", and start saying "I built a car."

Quote from: "Normspeed"Some neat rides there.  I'll bet things got ugly when that Vespa gang showed up.

Funny thing about those Vespa riders.. I passed them going home on I-4.... I couldn't believe it.. they drove those * things from Tampa to the show... it took me 1 1/2 hours and I was going 65-70... they had no business being on the interstate.. I am not sure if they are bad asses.. or stupid... or a bit of both.. but I do have new found respect for those dorks....

bad picture.. but here they are...

You'd never guess I used to make my living as a photographer, would ya?

Don, go to Walmart, and get yourself one of these little cans bottles...

http://www.cariboucoffee.com/asp/icedcoffee/index.asp

Drink it, sand off the labels with some 400 grit, use a little chrome polish on it, pop a hole slightly smaller than the overflow hose and then another smaller hole for expansion in the screw top and zip tie it the bottle in place and stick the hose in it.

Those aluminum Budweiser bottles work too, they look darn good stripped and polished.

Rodder's Roundtable / Daytona - Who's going???

I don't know much about what happened, but Denise is OK, her rear end finally decided it didn't want to take her abuse anymore and grenaded on her near Dayton, Ohio. She's got a ride back to Detroit, and Big Olds is headed to TN for repairs for the winter. She won't be making iot to our Poor Boy BBQ, and we are all sad.

I'll be at the track Saturday, I'll be camping in Holly Hill, by Friday night, and staying in town until after breakfast Sunday... I need a back seat to ride into the track Saturday AM with if somebody's got a back seat (or cargo bed) big enough for two. Denise was my ride in.

See ya there Lee, look for me at the HAMB thing at the East end of Lake Lloyd

Moved under it's own power for the first time in 12 years that I know of, probably closer to 35 years judging by the hugger orange dashboard it used to have.

I work kinda slow, but I don't give up.

Getting closer, tires should be here Friday, and a few little things are also on their way... a gauge, some sending units, some  firewall grommets, hood hinge bolts and a 24"x54" sheet of mother of pearl drum wrap...

The rivi console inserts and Corvair dash inserts and door trim will the drum wrap, should be nice with the black T-bird seats. I'm thinking that I'm changing my mind on the paint again... how about a nice lt. blue metallic for contrast to the interior?

Got a list of 1/2 hour projects to get done this week(end) and then hopefully, a twist of the key lot's of noise from those headers...

I've got a standing appointment with a buddy for an exhaust system, which is going to be just a little "different" than the off the shelf stuff.

Once this car is stone cold reliable, the body will get sent down to be media blasted (everywhere but the underside) and then I will do the bodywork and then (I will sew) the final interior once it's painted.

Thanks Lee! We Poor Boys look forward to seeing everybody... Make sure if you want to come, you register early... Last year was the first year and we got almost double the amount of cars we thought we'd get.

This year should be bigger... And we will probably be nit-pickier... Keep in mind a billet dipstick handle is not going to get you turned away, but a pastel peach '37 Ford on Boyds wheels will. email Alan a picture if your you think you might be on the cusp. We aren't trying to exclude anybody, we just want a certain old-fashioned vibe. Come anyway, spectators are free, it's very laid back atmosphere. No alcohol will be served at the show.

There is a before party down the road at a place called "No Where", the parking lot is a mini car show and they had a BBQ last year.

This year will will be opening up the area where would put spectators last year, and Big is going to get the lot across the street from his house mowed for spectator parking. We are also adding more food vendors so you don't have to wait so long in line.

With your registration, you get a free ticket to Don's mueseum(s), which is worth the price in itself. Ask somebody who has been.

Show up early...

Best of show last year:

Pastel, but OK

Hope you aren't fond of sleep...
