Rodder's Roundtable / AOD help... please
June 02, 2004, 03:22:42 PM
You can remove the tail housing. then unbolt the govenor.

Then remove the tranny pan.

Slowly apply air to the proper gov passage to see if the shift valves in the v-body cycle (move) or not.  they will move in sequence if all is OK

Perhaps the gov is stuck?

I used one on a 1950 chevy truck with a 235 six cylinder engine in the 1990's.

it worked great for the dual 1 barrel carbs

rules at work?  8)

jim........ kool that you got a new ride.

i know you have wanted a truck / elcamino for a while.  Some wheels and a bed cover mayb?

Don't go to wacky on the lower job if you are going to use it as a truck. I lowered our Ford supercrew F-150 only 2 inches front and rear.

We really like it and I can hook a trailer to the truck with no aux  air bags needed.

I don't think it would make a very useful tech article.  Maybe if it was made out of stuff that anyone could get, like a 275gal fuel oil tank and a used nuclear reactor, but this is just some junk I had laying around.  Besides most people would either live with rusty mufflers or buy new ones.

========== George, George, George, George, George, George, George, George, that is what we rodder / automotive type people do best.  make use of the junk, er.... old stuff laying around.

Rodder's Roundtable / Re: Transmission controller

What does the controller actually do on this tranny?

======== everything.

Line pressure rise and fall, shift timing points- up & down, converter lock up & unlock.

More happens that simple solenoids going on & off.

They read  off the TPS or a cable hooked to the carb which changes the voltage (low voltage, 5 or less) the computer sees that tells it what main line pressure to set ,  when to shift etc

Rodder's Roundtable / O/T - Motorcycle video
May 28, 2004, 11:18:47 PM
I watched this a while back , it is amazing the stuff he does on all of the bikes with 1 or 2 tires.  I could never do that stuff, cept mayb in my drinking days....

A guy I work with has a 650 Yamaha. He watched me cut through  stopped traffic this week to get to the left turn lane for the I-17 freeway near work.

The next morning he starts telling me on how far over I leaned the 1800 to make some turns between cars...  After I tell him I have drug the foot pegs a few times he just stared at me.... LOL

Rodder's Roundtable / Update on Radiator
May 09, 2004, 10:07:04 AM
I am glad that Visa has listened to your story and paperwork.  I see this Air-moble radiator company at swap meets here

Good to hear you are happy with Ron Davis stuff.

It is top shelf and top price.  they always have a backlog of orders there .
