What make and model car has sold the most cars of that model?
Ford Model T?
Nope! That is second place.
Then it has to be the VW. Yes?

Chevy Suburban
VW bug is correct. It was built somewhere in the world from 1938 to 2003.
Suburban has been built since 1935. but it was 12 generations with different styling for each generation.
Outside of GMC and Chevrolet how many other US makes built Suburbans?
Mopar SW's were called that
O
Passat and Golf both outsold Beetle. ???
QuoteMopar SW's were called that
Plymouth, Dodge and Desoto. There is one more.

Not for as long, and not the same styling for the whole production run

Bugs did have 3 different back window holes and two different windshield holes. :)
Now your splitting hairs. It depends on where in the world it was built. Europe and north America had changes that were not made in other countries until much later if at all. The original 1100 cc engines was still being made two years after they quit building Bugs in 2003.
On the Suburban there was a vendor built woody wagon sold through International dealers that was called a Suburban but I am not counting that one. There was another make that called their wagons Suburban.
Bonus question, when was the Suburban name trademarked?

Its your party.
In 1965 Chevrolet built 2,382,509 units of that 1,647,600 of those were the big Chevrolets
Wonder how much weight is represented there ^^^. In raw materials, or product.
I was thinking Nash is the missing Suburban. I like seeing Chevy CarryAlls. Beats a four door. I would guess right before four headlight mandate year is when Suburban became a Chevy only word.
Pontiac's Grand Prix nameplate ran for 47 years. ;D
The last Camaro is to roll off the line in the next month. The gas powered coupe only Camaro. The name could suffer the same fate as Maverick or Mach 1.
Nash Is Correct. GM never trademarked the Suburban name until 1983. Average weight of a 65 Chevy was 3470 lbs.
5.7 billion pounds then, give or take some millions.
That Little David mortar could throw a 3750 lb projectile 9,400 yards. So we could hurl one of these oh... how far we reckon? Wonder how that first quarter mile would go.
The first car with windshield antenna is around 2 1/4 tons.
