Members Rides / Introducing Black Bess

After months of drooling over this car I finally have made it mine.

My plans are to make it safe and drive it the way it is, it's been a bit more work than I first thought. Wiring has that many bare wires I am surprised it didn't catch on fire.  Brake are a little suspect, exhaust is a tad too loud., needs tyres but I am enjoying myself working through all the little problems.

Members Rides / An Aussie ute called Oz E Express
February 25, 2010, 05:16:48 PM
I have moved this from my last post about the two Aussie cars.
Just to continue the story of the spinner ute, I got the car home about 10days later after a lot of phone calls.  I saw straight away why he didn't want me to see the car, the floor that was supposedly finished had one side done and this was welded to the rusted floor with no effort to clean it up, the supposedly finished brake booster fitted had one bolt in it and no effort had been made to fit it properly. His panel repairs and welding was absolute crap.  I could go on and on but better off moving forward.

I have enlisted the help of a friend to do the panels, he has replaced the two crappy repairs on the side and we are about to put the body onto a rotiserie
Here is the "Frenched ???" headlights

The "finished " custom curve on the rear guards.

The rust repair welded by a chook.

Moving forward. this is that same repair now .

The body off, Oz E Express is naked.

The chassis.

This is what was under the rust repair, he had to have seen it. A pile of mud.

I wish I had done this as soon as i got him home (Oz E Express will be a car with balls and therefore referred to as "He"), it will make it so easy to work on the car.I should have the car on the rotiserie over the weekend.

Members Rides / Aussie 62 Falcon & 1949 Ford Ute
December 28, 2008, 08:36:05 PM
Hi, I haven't posted for quite a while but I thought I would show you guys my 62 falcon.  I purchased this car because I was frustrated waiting for my 49 Ford Ute (Ranchero) to be finished by the panel beater.

As I have gone the early falcon-V8 route before, I decided to put a worked  221CI six cylinder in this one & it will be mated to a C10 auto with a stage 2 shift kit.  The six is being built at the moment & hopefully should be finished next week.

This is how I bought her

This is NOW !!!!!

The 1949 ute looked like this the last time I saw her last February, I haven't visited because the last time I was so disappointed that the Panel man had not done as much as he led me to believe.  I ring him every week & he assures me that all panels have been finished and hopefully it will painted next month.

The front has the arch in the bonnet removed and is straight it will have a straight tube grill, the headlights are frenched and the front window will be but jointed with no rubber. There will be a frenched aerial in the fender.

There a lot of custom work on  her, the roll pan, LED lights and the tailgate is now flush with the side panels and hinges are hidden, the rear edge of the wheel arch is rounded following the curve of the body.
