Sitewide User FAQ / new sub forum?
August 01, 2014, 01:37:21 AM
i think we need a new sub forum called wayne's world.

wayne or the mods can move wayne's various valuable tech posts into so it can all be in one place. each thread could be one a main topic like charging systems, ignitions etc. it would be a great back up in case life takes turns that prevent wayne from continuing to post here.

just my two cents

Rodder's Roundtable / buying an enclosed trailer
February 26, 2014, 02:29:25 PM
I'm in the market for an enclosed trailer. 16ft-ish for short term storage/moving.  Any brands to stay away from? Any brands worth a bit of a premium? Common problem areas?

While my truck is a 6cyl chevy, I do have bigger trucks in the family for when I need to move it full.

Thoughts

Thanks in advance

so many choices equals too many choices

any to for sure stay away from?

Rodder's Roundtable / speedometer hold down bolt
July 08, 2011, 01:48:09 AM
one of the fellows at work has a problem with his turbo 350

the bolt that holds the speedo cable to the tranny seized and when he tried to get it out snapped  . then when he used an easy out (against my advice) to get the broken piece out he broke the tranny where the bolt goes in :-o  now he wants to repair said break. it broke along the bolt length. i suggested cleaning well and then JB weld and drill/tap or drill/helicoil.

is there a better path or is JB weld the way to go

thanks
