Quote from: "Rrumbler"Good to see from ya', Al.

Thanks, Rrumbler. I haven't spent much time in the shop lately but I'm hoping to get out there a bit more this winter.

I haven't done much in my shop for quite some time. Today however I gave my "new" B/A wiper cabinet a bath. I picked this thing up in a junk removal job I did last week. Haven't decided if I'll keep it or sell it.

My shop is getting crowded!

Quote from: "chimp koose"Boyd Who , I am glad you did not sell the truck and am also glad you have new room mates. I have never lived without a pet since the age of 7.

Thank you. I never really wanted to sell the truck but my lack of enthusiasm and dwindling bank account had me seriously thinking about it. I guess in a way it was lucky that there was no interest in it when I advertised it. I'm working with my bank to see if I can renegotiate my loans. I still won't have any cash to put into the Essex but I have lots of things I can do on it that don't cost anything.

With the exception of a few years I've had cats most of my life. Salem's death hit me really hard as I'd been away for 17 days on a motorcycle trip and came home to her in very bad shape. The vet was able to give her something to get her through the weekend so I got to spend a few more days with her. The new cats are adapting fairly quickly, although I have a feeling my house will be in a shambles for awhile.

For the first time in months I actually went into my shop and did a little bit of work on the Essex. I got the front shock mounts tacked into place as well as the front spreader bar. I had all but given up on the truck but perhaps the spark is slowly coming back.

Today I'm helping get my two new housemates settled. On Aug 6th I had to put our cat to sleep as she had cancer. I was devastated as it was only 5 months since I'd lost Karen and it was her cat and my only companion in the house. Yesterday I picked up a pair of pure white 8 week old brother kittens and they are slowly getting used to the house. Very rambunctious little critters, too!

Thanks guys, and yes, I'll be careful. I've ridden just over 1,000 miles on the Harley in the last week. :D

The Triumph is a '69 Trophy Sport engine with a Bonneville head mated to a '68 frame. It has an odd-shaped hardtail section added that has no stretch or drop. It looks almost like an older military rigid model, which is kinda cool. I'm still chasing some electrical issues but hope to have it running by the end of the month.

Went for a 200-mile bike ride through one of our national parks.
I picked up a couple of motorcycles recently, a 650 Triumph bobber for playing with, and a '96 Harley Heritage Softail for touring. It's been over 5 years since I've owned a bike and there is no better therapy in the world. The Essex project is on hold for the time being.

That's awesome, Glen! Congrats!

Chimp...the doors weren't really cheap, but I should be able to make a few bucks when I sell them.  :D

I stopped at an antique store in the middle of nowhere today and found these...

The price was right and there's very little rot in them that I can see.

Congrats on the milestone! I made it 5 months with the first wife. May 17th would have been 16 years for Karen and I.

I would go with a power rack. When I built my '48 Chevy p/u back in '98 I used a manual rack. It was okay as long as you were moving, but parking took a bit of effort. I eventually swapped over to a power rack and it was 100% nicer to drive.

The swap meet was a fantastic success! Sold the old wheels & tires, bumpers, and headlights from the Essex, plus a pile of other goodies. Now I have some $$ to put back into the hotrod and a little more room in the shop. :D

And my new ride...
