Dolly

Dolly is an interesting addition to the RRT family. She's not old enough to drive yet, so a picture of her is here so as not to leave her out. Here is her story, as told by her;

"It's a long story but I'll try and put it as succinctly as I can. The story starts way back in the early archives when the mopar guy suggested that a good use for caster wheels may be to make some dollys. He went on to say that he had lots of dollys in his garage. A nice gentleman from downunder suggested that maybe he was a little old for playing with dollys and then everybody followed suit. At every opportunity since he was ribbed by all and sundry about his dollies. I assume I was one of those dollys but I don't recall much about my early life as I wasn't allowed out and I think I was kept most of the time in a dark closet. Then last year I thought my luck had changed as the Moparguy took me along to the (1998) NSRA Nat's at Louisville. Sadly I learned my luck wasn't meant to change, as on that dark and stormy Saturday night he dumped me in dark and miserable carpark. Fortunately my luck did change and one of the members of the St Louis Street Rod assoc. who was worried about my well being and could see how scared I was, placed me inside the car of another member for protection from the elements. Even more fortunate than that was the guy riding shotgun in that car just happened to be the same guy who had many months earlier made that comment about Moparguy and his Dollys. Yes, I agree it was a strange coincidence, or maybe fate.

Anyhow that caring, sharing and compassionate Aussie guy took me under his wing and nursed me back to health. Unlike my previous 'human' this guy introduced me to his friends and included me in all the good times. I soon learned especially after meeting that sweet Canadian boy at (Bonneville) that not all humans were as mean to dollys as the Moparguy. After cruisin California with DRD57 and my adopted dad I'm now living happily ever after downunder.
