Phat 46

Joe's '46 Chevy coupe hugs the ground thanks to a Mustang II front end and a Nova rear. The first half of the 350/350 combo is currently on a stand so Joe can add MORE POWER!!! The photo of the '46 was taken at the Kalamazoo NSRA Nats.

Joe is currently working on this 41 Ford Truck
The truck is a '41 farm truck cab and hood, I believe it was about a 2 1/2 ton truck, real long, with duals on the back and about 20" wheels.

All cabs are the same from '40 through '47 from 1/2 ton up to the bigger trucks. I built the frame for this thing using 3X2 7ga. tubing, with a dropout trans mount in the X member; there's a 13" step right behid the cab, and a 6" step right as the frame comes out under the firewall in the front. I used Air Ride Tech. air springs in the rear and a swap meet 4" drop axle and spring in the front. It'll have four bars front and rear. The engine is a warmed up '71 429 Ford, with a C-6 behind. On the interior pic you can see that the taishaft and drive shaft will be above the floor, so it'll have a pretty deep tunnel through the cab. I narrowed a 9" rear 4" to get the driveshaft in the center of the truck as it was offset to the passenger side that much. The truck wiil have no front fenders, and the trailer type fenders that are in the picture on the rear. It looks like I'll have to widen some fenders for the back as I can't find wide enough fenders right now. The bed is 41" long, I got it from a friend of a friend for $25; that includes both sides, the floor, the front panel, the tailgate and all the parts to make hindges, and the framework to go under it all, all unused!!! The finished (?) truck will be flat black body with dull orange frame and running gear, with some orange Von Dutch style stripes on the hood and tailgate. I am looking for a pair of Torque Thrust wheels for the back, and I'll use Speedways 10 spoke gasser style wheels on the front.
